How it works

Simple to join, clear to follow.

You contribute, the Treasurer records it, and your family's account shows exactly where it went.

Every contribution

70% savings30% welfare
  1. Step 1

    Join as a family

Register your family with the SACCO and pay the one-time registration and the annual subscription. The Treasurer opens your account and gives you a temporary password.

  2. Step 2

    Contribute

Pay by mobile money, bank or cash. The Treasurer records each payment, and it shows in your account as soon as it is recorded.

  3. Step 3

    Savings earn interest

Your family's savings earn a share of the SACCO's returns, added to your balance each year.

  4. Step 4

    Welfare when it's needed

The welfare fund supports member families through emergencies and bereavement.

Our story

From a small circle to a movement.

Munno Ddala began with a simple idea: financial security shouldn't be a struggle you face alone.

  1. 2023

    The beginning

Munno Ddala starts with 5 families in Kampala, driven by a need for open, fair welfare support.

  2. 2024

    The member portal

Every family can now see its savings, welfare and each payment the Treasurer records.

  3. 2025

    Growing together

We grow to 32+ families and start investing surplus savings as a group.

  4. Next

    Generational wealth

A lasting fund for the education and health of our children's children.

We wanted to build something that would outlast us. A system where our children inherit not just money, but a community.

When the Treasurer records a contribution, 70% goes to your family's savings, which earn interest, and 30% goes to the welfare fund that supports families in hard times. Your account shows both parts of every payment.

It covers running costs, including the member portal, so that all of your contributions go to your savings and welfare with no monthly fees.

Savings are meant for long-term growth and are usually available once a year or on request to the committee. Welfare is paid out on approved claims.

Funds are held in a multi-signatory account, so no one person can move money without committee approval. In the portal, each member has their own password, officers only see what their office needs, and every change to money is logged with who made it.
